Not only the cars get prepped for painting, the booth gets prepped also. The booth should be one of the cleanest sections in a Restoration shop. Our shop always sprays the booth down with water before every paint job rolls in. Once sprayed, the car rolls into the booth after being washed with warm water, and soap then blown dry. The car is masked, then wiped down with a degreaser then wiped down with a tac cloth. Also, before each paint job, the entire building is washed down with water also, the dusty work comes to a halt. The painter puts on a paint suit, rubber gloves, then proceeds to mix up the sprayable paint then paints the car from top to bottom, wearing a paint mask. Below you will see what painting a car looks like.
